At Cherokee Nation, we offer eligible employees affordable coverage with you and your total health in mind, including medical, dental, prescription and vision coverage. In addition, we also provide basic life/AD&D coverage, voluntary cancer, voluntary accident, voluntary legalshield/IDtheft, supplemental life insurance, as well as long- and short-term disability.
As an eligible employee, Cherokee Nation offers you the opportunity to contribute a chosen percentage of your income, up to the IRS maximum for the year. Your contributions are deducted from your paychecks automatically and invested into your account. Cherokee Nation provides a generous matching contribution of 100% on your first 5% employee contribution and 50% on the next 4%, up to a maximum match of 7%.
Cherokee Nation recognizes the value of rest and relaxation. That's why in addition to 10 paid holidays, we provide our employees with paid family leave, paid foster parent leave, bereavement leave, and mental health leave. Cherokee Nation also provides paid annual leave/sick leave to regular full-time employees. New hires earn paid annual/sick leave at 4 hours per pay period. Annual leave increases as employment lengthens.
